Security and Access Recovery

With built-in Two Factor Authentication (2FA) support, CrossBox helps you add an additional layer of security to your email address. On the other hand, several recovery options are available for those that lose access to the email account.

What are the new IP notifications?

Each time CrossBox detects a successful login from a previously unseen IP address, you'll receive a push notification to warn you about it. Warnings for logins from devices you marked as "trusted" will be suppressed.

What is 2FA?

2FA is an extra layer of security used to make sure that people trying to gain access to an email account are who they say they are. First, a user will enter their email address and a password. Then, instead of immediately gaining access, they will be required to provide another piece of information, in this case, a token that was generated by an application such as Google Authenticator running on the owner's phone. Only if the token is correct, the user is allowed access to the email account.

What are the recovery options?

Each user can set up a recovery email address and/or security questions that can be used to recover access in the event of password loss. At the login page, a user can click on the "Forgot?" button to choose from different ways of recovering access to the account.
